    Existing Infrastructure:

  • Fish landing jetty 210 mts. at Vanakbara and 60 mts. at Ghoghla.
  • Fish market at Vanakbara & Ghoghla.
  • Fishing platform(215 mts.) available for ideal berthing of fishing vessels and during monsoon safely beached on platform
  • Small Water Storage Tanks are available at jetty.
  • Electricity provided at landing area.
  • Approach road available at three Fish Landing Centers.
  • Two H. S. diesel pump operated by Fisheries co-operative society at Vanakbara.
  • 100 fishermen houses at Vanakbara and 57 houses at Ghoghla allotted to needy fishermen for residence purpose

    Problems of Fishermen:

  • Dredging is required, as the sea mouth at Vanakbara is shallow and low tide draft is 0.5m. Valuable time is lost as vessels have to wait for high tide.
  • Vanakbara is the busiest fishing center accounting for approx. 70% of total fish catch. Therefore Fishermen are demanding for development of Fishery Harbour.
  • Due to lack of Infrastructure Facilities, Fishing Vessels are migrating to other Fishing Centers of Gujarat State.
  • Apprehension of fishermen by the Pakistani Authorities.
